Rally for Dr. Hirsch and Her Family

Story

I’m a former nursing student of Dr. Hirsch at Sam Houston State University. She’s someone who has made a lasting impact on so many of us through guiding, teaching, and encouraging us throughout nursing school. Now, she and her family are going through an incredibly difficult time, and we want to be there for her like she’s been there for us.

Dr. Hirsch’s son, Noah, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. In just a matter of days, the cancer has spread to his lungs, lymph nodes, kidney, and now his brain. He was set to undergo surgery, but due to complications, he’s now been admitted to the hospital and has started chemotherapy while awaiting transfer to MD Anderson for further treatment.

This comes after the heartbreaking loss of Dr. Hirsch’s daughter, Alexis, in 2022. As her former students, we can’t imagine the pain she and her family are facing right now.

We’ve created this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden of Noah’s treatment which will help with covering medical costs, travel, time away from work, and anything else the family might need during this time.
